Early Childhood Centre Manager / Kindergarten Kaiārahi
0.7 FTE permanent
We are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible person to manage our Waldorf kindergartens. We are a licensed early childhood centre with up to 60 children, overseen by the Kapiti Waldorf Trust. Our special character curriculum is aligned with Te Whāriki. Te Rāwhiti Kindergarten is linked with Te Rā School, a state-integrated Waldorf primary school.
The kindergarten kaiārahi/manager is responsible for the leadership/management of Te Rāwhiti Kindergartens and playgroups to ensure the delivery of high quality early childhood care and education grounded in Te Whāriki and Waldorf pedagogy.
The kaiārahi is a representative for the kindergartens and the playgroups, including their special character and values, when interacting with children, whānau, teachers and the public.
Qualifications, Skills, Experience and Competencies
- Leadership and management experience and skills within an early childhood context
- Understanding of and/or commitment to learn about our special character and Waldorf pedagogy
- Understanding of and/or commitment to learn about te Tiriti o Waitangi and bi-cultural practice.
- Demonstrated skills in:
- Relationship and team building
- Oral and written communication
- Time management
- Financial literacy and IT
- Resilience
We are open to negotiate the size of the position to suit the selected candidate, including reassigning specific responsibilities to outside contractors.
